Not Enough Ballistas To Go Around

Although there are several weapons that are only four in number, like the Heavy Thrusting Swords, Claws, and Great Bows, only one weapon type can claim to be the fewest in number: The Ballistas. In total, there are only two Ballistas that you can get your hands on in Elden Ring, the Hand Ballista and the Jar Cannon.

Plenty Of Shields To Defend

In total, there are 78 shield items that you can get your hands on, but it’s iffy on whether or not you’ll be able to actually use them. Six of those 78 are actually torches, so you’re probably not going to be able to defend yourself very well if that’s all you can utilize.

However, there are 20 Small Shields, 27 Medium Shields, and 25 Great Shields so you will, more than likely, be fine. Keep remembering to dodge and weave though - your shield can only take so much damage for you.
